
The Royal Group of Colleges, Borawal organized a grand Virasati Mela on 04 and 05 April 2026 with the aim of celebrating and preserving the vibrant cultural heritage of Punjab. The two-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, local residents, and visitors from different regions, making it one of the most significant cultural events organized by the College.
The college campus was transformed into a traditional Punjabi village atmosphere through the installation of heritage exhibits, cultural displays, and numerous traditional stalls showcasing Punjabi art, crafts, cuisine, folk culture, and rural life. Visitors were provided with an opportunity to experience the richness of Punjab’s traditions and cultural values.
The mela was graced by several distinguished personalities from different fields. On 04 April 2026, Vijay Singla, Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly representing the Mansa Assembly Constituency, attended the event and appreciated the efforts of the institution in preserving and promoting Punjabi culture.
On 05 April 2026, the renowned Punjabi actor and comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi attended the mela as the Chief Guest. He interacted with students and visitors and commended the college for organizing such a meaningful cultural initiative.
A large number of visitors attended the Virasati Mela over the two days. The cultural performances, traditional exhibitions, heritage displays, and folk activities attracted immense appreciation from the audience. The event successfully created awareness about Punjab’s cultural heritage while providing students with an opportunity to connect with their roots and traditions.
The mela concluded with a vote of thanks and appreciation to all guests, participants, organizers, and visitors who contributed to the success of the event.
